One of our favorite things to do on the Big Island is to visit Kahua Ranch for their “Evening At Kahua Ranch” Paniolo Dinner. Our neighbors run the event and it’s absolutely a blast. The dinners are on Wednesday evenings, and you’re picked-up in Waimea or Waikoloa (I believe Kona also,) and taken to the ranch which is up on the Kohala Mountain. It’s a fun drive, and Sue (our neighbor,) tells you all kinds of interesting Hawaii information on the trip to and from the ranch.
During the dinner, they have all kinds of cowboy activities for the kids, and offer an excellent dinner (chicken and steak etc) as well as singing and dancing! Plus, they offer several selections of Kona beer on tap and wine + sodas. We try to take all our guests and family to the ranch whenever we get the chance!
